Hi friends -
today I am sharing my last post for the year 2016 with you! Can you believe we are that close to Christmas and the new year?!
I have a layout to share which I finished in no time - mainly because I am laying sick
on the couch while writing this post. Let me tell you - needing to be creative while having a bronchitis is no fun.
At first I wanted to create a cluster of christmas ornaments but wasn't liking my outcome, so I needed to change direction. The christmas tree cluster cut file from the Silhouette store immediatly caught my eye as I was searching for a file to stitch.
I used my Silhouette and the Sketch pen feature and let it draw the design onto my paper. Afterwards I pierced holes and used a regular backstitch and white thread to stitch my design.
Later on I decided to fill in the trees with patterned paper from the Hello Christmas kit.
I simply traced the shape onto some vellum and then used it as a cutting template to cut out 7 different trees from the patterned papers.
Originally I wanted to have the title - Twinkling lights - but it just didn't fit or look right to me. I used the stamp set that is included in the Hello Christmas kit and the sentiment Magical and stamped that directly onto my photo with Staz On.
As always when I stitch a lot, I like to keep embellishing minimal to keep the focus on the stitching. That way the focus stays on the stitching and all your work.
I won't be back until next year. I wish you all Happy Holidays, a happy new year and
lots and lots of fun!
xx, Laureen
