Hi friends -

it's Laureen back on the blog to share a new layout using "Sophie". I had so much fun creating this layout using all the florals from the patterned paper that comes in the kit.

When I first saw the Cut Apart sheet from the Sophie Kit I thought I would recreate the look of the wreath that is on there. After I had placed all my florals that way I noticed how similar it was to the Autumn layout wreath I made back with Emeline and wanted to do something different.

Elsie and I have been chatting about it and she came up with the idea of only doing half a wreath - I then knew I would cut out a circle out of white cardstock to tuck some of my florals under and layer some on top of it.

After the cutting magic was done, I placed it over the edge and traced it, so I could easily cut the circle to nestle right into the bottom left corner. One of my left over pieces was then placed into the top right corner to balance out the layout.

I adhered the white circle onto the light blue solid paper and cut it leaving a slight border around the edge to peek out. Of course I had to add a little stitching for my texture - so I used white thread and stitched both circles.

Later on I adhered my circles with foam tape to pop off of my page - this also made it easier for me to tuck some of the florals under. I recently discovered my huge love for the PixScan mat from Silhouette - at first for the Cut apart sheet and then I tried it for the florals from this month kit.

It cut out my florals within minutes - the tracing work before took longer than the actual cutting. But it was so worth it - I peeled of the paper and was left with all the beautiful florals and branches and leaves sticking to my mat.

I simply peeled them off and arranged them around my circle, creating small clusters with different flowers and branches. I also tucked in some of the beautiful wooden pieces from the kit.

After I had adhered my picture I struggled with my title - I desperatly wanted to use the rubber word sweet but couldn't come up with a matching title. Then I found the cute wooden banner with the word "today" and the quote I used for my title came into my mind.

I didn't have enough letters in the white basic alphabet you can get over in the shop, so I needed to get a little creative. When the beautiful "Jen" stamp set was released last year I immediatly bought it and hadn't used it until now.

I stamped out the words "make" and "ridiculously" with black ink onto a piece of white smooth cardstock and cut around the edge making it look like a die- cut. Then I simply adhered them onto my photo to create my title. I love using different stickers and elements to create a title - so I also used the puffy alphabet from the kit.

I hope you enjoyed the last project for the month!

Have a great day-
