This is Jana with my very first post for Felicity Jane. I still cannot believe that I am part of this amazing community!
I love this Jaimee kit with its spring feel so I went for a simple layout that will start the month of March in our family album.
As you can see, the page is 8.5x11. It is my favourite size! I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the space of 12x12 plus the rectangle shape just makes it all the more interesting.
Lately I have been trying to challenge myself to use less white cardstock as a background to get out of my comfort zone. Luckily, in Jaimee's kit there are many papers that have soft colours and patterns to be used as background paper. I went for this "dotty lines" paper. It can be a bit tricky for journaling but it goes nicely with the "first walk" theme of the page.
I love using lots of pictures on my pages. The more the better! Here I had three in three different sizes. As for the layers I used few bits of patterned papers and journaling cards. The middle picture is adhered using foam stickers to add some dimension.
Talking about dimension. The puffy black alphabet is great! But I needed bigger letters and a bit more colourful. So I used my dies to cut the letters out from green and pink paper in the kit and used moosgumi to give it the 3D effect. I like using different fonts and handlettering when creating the title of the page.
I love stamps but recently I have been a bit too lazy to use them. But hey, the Jaimee stamp is just incredible!! So I had to give it a go. I used the scalloped banner and stars underneath the cluster. I feel that I have more control with stamping than using splatters at the end of the creative process, it always makes me a bit nervous as to where the paint splatters might end up :)
The last detail is a tab which is my favourite embellishment. I could use tabs everywhere!
