Hi everyone...it's Sheree!
Are you ready for a new sketch challenge? This month I've come up with a diagonal sketch design that I hope you'll enjoy. Let's take a look...
Here's the layout I created to share with you using the sketch...
I kept my layout quite close to the sketch design, although my diagonal didn't end up being quite the same angle as the sketch. I really wanted my layout to feel light and airy since I was documenting being at the beach, so I chose the spots paper from the Capri paper pack for the top and bottom sections of the page keeping it white in the centre diagonal section. I used the yellow scalloped branding strips from two pieces of the Capri Floral & Diamonds paper to go at the top and bottom of the white area which really helped to frame this section.
I used a combination of Coco and Capri puffy alphabet stickers for the title, adding a tiny puffy flower sticker to the centre of the ‘o’. I adhered my 3 x 2 inch photos across the page, adding floral die cuts to each end, and circlular ampersand and foam “and” stickers in between them. The journaling strips were added underneath the photos along with a stamped sentiment from the Mari Stamp Set. At the bottom I’ve used a label sticker with the date.
I added machine stitching to add some subtle texture to the layout and I’m happy with how it turned out!

Hi FJ friends!
The FJ monthly sketch is my favorite challenge each month and today I have a mix and match layout with the Mari and Brooke collection for you. I also have added some embellishments of other previous collections.
For the big diagonal paper stripe I wanted to use the wonderful wooden paper of the Mari "Woodgrain & Dotted Line" paper. It matches perfectly to the wooden sun parasols of my pictures. I cut the woodgrain paper to one paper strip with about 5 inches in height and added it to my 12 x 12 Essentials Cardstock. I cut two small paper strips of 1/4 inch from the Mari "Pink Dots & Hearts" and glued them on the bottom and on the top of the wooden paper.
I fussy cut many of the wonderful pink roses from the Mari "Floral & Window Pane" paper and glued them under the borders. I also used some white cardstock pieces and made some palm leaves. I added them also to the paper borders on the top and on the bottom of the big paper strip. I stitched with my sewing machine and white thread over the thin paper strips with the hearts. Then I arranged my 3 pictures on the paper strip and fussy cut many of the wonderful clouds from the Brooke "Clouds & Scallops" paper. I decorated my pictures with them.
I used the cute Tiny Dots Essentials Puffy Alphabet Stickers for my two titles. I decorated my pictures with some Mari Die Cut Shapes and used the polka dot Mari designer tab to add it on my picture in the middle. I also used a miniwide paper clip in mint on the right picture on the top. I printed out my journaling and cut it into small paper strips. I added them under the third picture on the right side.
I used the Amanda and the Hello Sunshine stamp sets and added the phrases "Summertime" and "Family Time" on the layout. I stamped the ice cream stamps on white cardstock and fussy cut them to get cute ice cream die cuts. I added them on the layout on the top of the picture on the right side. In the end I splattered black ink across the page and added some Bailey Epoxy Hearts and Millie Puffy Hearts in mint here and there. I also added some tiny Puffy Shapes from the Brooke collection on my page.
I hope you like my page. Have fun with the gorgeous May sketch from Sheree! I had so much fun while creating!
xx Ulli

The tilted design on this sketch was too fun to pass up! Instead of using patterned paper to create that tilted design, I opted to use stamps instead. I love using stamps to create my own patterned background. It was a little tricky to go over the crease in the middle of my A5 notebook, but I made it work. Just like in the sketch, I used 2 photos. I just changed the orientation from landscape to portrait, made them overlap, and put them off-centered. I enjoy using multiple photos on a page and will often keep a series of 2-4 photos that are taken at the same time on my camera roll. The photos are different enough but similar enough where it lends nicely to repetition. I really wanted to focus on white space on this page so I stuck to doing most of my embellishing behind and right around my photos. Finally, I "weighted" the page evenly by adding my title in the bottom left corner and the date tab in the upper right corner. This design was so fun to play with! It's one I can see myself doing over and over again.

Next up we have a lovely layout from Kerstin Scheidler...
Hello...it's sketch time again! The sketch of Sheree is terrific again and I hope you like my version!
As a basis I have used the Capri paper "Spots" in 7 x 9 inches. On top of that I made Polaroid frames in the size 3.5 x 3 inches out of the Capri papers "Diagonal", "Stripes" and pink solid cardstock. For the first frame I used the Capri Journaling card with the saying "learning & growing and learning some more". In the other two frames I made photos of our son Tim from his high school graduation. Then I placed the frames in the center of my paper. To the left of the journaling card frame I made a cluster of Capri Die Cut Shapes, a Capri Miniwide Paper Clip in coral and a Tori puffy sticker. Above, I made the title on vellum using the awesome Capri Puffy Alphabet Stickers. A wonderful Mari Vellum Butterfly, a couple of Capri Puffy Shapes with flowers and two Capri Chipboard Asterisks complete this. On the right I added a Mari Vellum Butterfly and the sweet flower Capri Die Cut Shapes with adhesive pads. A small pink bow from the Tori Puffy Stickers completes the first frame.
I decorated the other two frames with Puffy Word Stickers "This day" and "Memories" from the Shay collection as well as the cute little camera from the Capri Puffy Shapes and the "&" and two hearts from the Capri Die Cut Shapes. Next to them I added some of the cute little Capri Puffy Shapes and the Capri Chipboard Asterisks. I placed my journaling below the frames (written with my typewriter on vellum). The cute little arrow from the Capri Puffy Shapes points to the saying from the Capri Die Cut Shapes "Doing my best" which I think goes great with my layout. I was missing something on my layout and so I glued two 1 inch strips from the Capri paper "Stripes" right and left under the paper.
It was great fun to do the sketch again! It's also great to see that older collections can always be used with new collections.

Now let's see what Tati Pereira created with the sketch...
Hello everyone,
This is my first sketch for FJ and I'm happy with the result. Are you also the type of person who likes to take pictures of beautiful floors around?!
Something like this "selfeet". I love it! Sheree’s sketch was inspiring, and I love the title "Lovin' this place".
I have used paper and ephemeras from the Jeana and Brie digital collection. I hope you like my version! ❤️

Our last project today is from Celes Gonzalo. Here she is to tell us all about her beautiful page...
The wonderful sketch of this month was perfect for some of my most beautiful photos from my trip to New Zealand a few years ago. I felt so happy during that trip. I enjoyed every day, all the places I visited, the nature, the color. I can still remember the noises, the smell of the forest and and the sea breeze.
For making my layout I decided to combine three papers from the Millie Collection and some of the die cuts. To give more volume to the paper layers, I scratched the edges by hand and placed all of them together. Besides... I love sewing details so I looked for my sewing machine and added some nice sewing details. Stitching details add a unique warm touch to any project.
As you can see, I made a small change to the sketch. I placed the banner/tag with the heart at the bottom because I added a lot of journaling to my layout.
I hope you find this interpretation inspiring... Just enjoy the process and create with your most beautiful memories...
Thanks!
