Hello FJ Friends!
Today I’m excited to share my latest My Memories Notebook spread with you featuring the gorgeous Emma Kit. I’ve been creating a spread in my notebook each month throughout this year and it’s been such a fun project so far! This time I’ve documented our May highlights.
I started by printing my photos then chose five journaling cards from the Emma Journaling Cards pack.
I like to start each of my spreads with a month title card in the top left of the first page. I chose the yellow gingham journaling card as my base and stitched around the edge with my sewing machine. I fussy cut the large flower from the Emma “Floral” paper and positioned it to the left side of the card. I then backed the circular chipboard bookplate with vellum and added “May” with some Tiny Dot Essentials Puffy Alphabet Stickers. I stamped the year onto white cardstock with the Aspen Date Stamp Set, cut it out and added it underneath. I finished this card by adding a die cut heart and brads to each side of the bookplate.
Next to the title card is a pocket I created using the patterned half of the green diagonal gingham card. I punched a half circle into the top edge and backed it with plain white cardstock before stitching around the edge, then tucked my printed journaling and photos inside. To decorate the front of the pocket I used a die cut label, a fussy cut flower and some chipboard word confetti pieces. I also added some ribbon to the top of my journaling.
At the bottom of the first page is a photo of my Mum. I simply added a fussy cut flower and chipboard word confetti piece at the bottom. To the right is my journaling. I printed it onto a tag from the Kayla Journaling Tag Stack, added the yellow reinforcement sticker and twine to the top then stitched around the edge before backing it with the “Chapter 7” grid journaling card.
At the top of the second page is the pink journaling card with the title “the little details”. I printed some journaling onto vellum, tore across the bottom and stitched it onto the card across the top. I also added a miniwide paper clip.
To the right is the photo that relates to the vellum journaling. I added a chipboard word confetti piece, a die cut heart and fussy cut flower to the bottom.
At the bottom left of the second page is a photo of us at the movies. It’s not the best quality photo but I just had to include it in our May memories! I added a die cut speech bubble and created a little cluster with a die cut ticket and heart, fussy cut flower and chipboard word confetti piece. I love how it turned out.
The printed journaling to the right is backed with the multi-stripe journaling card. I stitched across the top and bottom, stamped an arrow at the bottom and added the heart chipboard word confetti piece at the top before finishing off with some fussy cut flowers.
Once my photos and cards were done all I had to do was adhere them into my notebook and my May spread was complete!
Have you tried documenting in this format yet? It’s such an enjoyable way to get your memories down on paper. I hope I’ve given you some ideas that you can use on your next project.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today
