Hello FJ fans,
Mari has arrived at my door step and I fell in love with this spring kit all over again. I have to tell you that for me to hold all those beautiful items in my hands is one of the best feelings ever. All the wonderful details and textures! I am especially in love with the vellum butterflies, I think they could very possibly be the TOP thing this year so far!
Today it is going to be about my travelers notebook spread. I have this little notebook full of my "friends memories" and I was lucky enough to be able to include a very fresh one. It is quite remarkable - two weeks ago we were in T shirts and today we have to wear winter coats in Prague. It got really cold recently.
But enough with the weather small talk. Lets get to the layout. I decided to make it very special and printed the photo large. I wanted to focus on the butterflies and have them all on one side and leave the other one only for the picture. I decorated it with a few die cut shapes and added a title from the beautiful Bailey kit. When I do layouts in a notebook I always try to make it err more on the 2D side of things. Mind you, I love all things with good dimension but then the notebooks get really thick. So if I want to use a chipboard I usually peel off a few layers to make it slightly thinner.
On the opposite page I created a small envelope. I wanted the inside of the envelope to be made from a different pattern paper so I simply cut a piece from the hearts pattern paper and slid it in. There are three butterflies kind of flying out from the envelope. I enhanced that idea by drawing a dotted line. In the envelope there are two tags for journaling. I love using envelopes for some hidden messages!
Do you also use large photos in your notebooks? I cant wait to see what YOU create with the gorgeous Mari kit! Have a lovely spring everyone!
