Meet The Creative Team

We are back today with two more crafty ladies!

First up is Janna Werner:

Q | What is your least favorite household chore?
A | Cleaning windows - no question! Oh and ironing. And wiping the floor. Dusting the shelves ain´t fun either… don´t get me started - lol!!

Q | What's your guilty pleasure?
A | Hm,... well, there is this candy called Kinder Happy Hippo.. I can´t stop and always need to eat the entire package which includes 5 pieces! o.O Yummie! I rarely buy it to avoid this lol.

Q | Favorite scrapbook/planner/crafty embellishment/product?
A | (Puffy) sticker and alphas.

Q | What do you Netflix/binge watch?
A | Right now I am desperately waiting for the new Gilmore Girls episodes - c.a.n.t. wait!! Within the last months I watched Vikings, Criminal Minds, Wayward Pines and Bones.

Q | What about you might surprise us?
A | I am hearing impaired on one side and wear a hearing aid. Unless someone gets on my nerves, then I might turn it off ;-) I also have Tinnitus on both ears, scrapbooking / crafting / painting helps me to relax and focus on other things.

Q | What motivates you to create?
A | I don´t know, it comes from within. I feel sad and unhappy if I can´t create something for a longer time. I just need to watch my hands create something.

Q | When/why did you start memory keeping
A | I started in 2011 after talking to a friend who told me she was scrapbooking. I tumbled across a few videos by Marion Smith and after some time I got hooked. I enjoy flipping through old pages and albums, remembering good and sometimes not so good times.

Q | What project best shows off your style?

Next up is Peggy Emmrich:

Q | What is your least favorite household chore?
A | Well, that would be doing the dishes. I’ve been living without a dishwasher for about six years and for about the same amount of time I have been telling myself ‘The next apartment will have a dishwasher included’ - I already moved 4 times… Luckily, my boyfriend hates doing the dishes a little less than I do, so I’m only responsible for the drying part.

Q | What's your guilty pleasure?
A | Kinderriegel. Or popcorn. And sometimes it is nachos. But always Kinderriegel.

Q | Favorite scrapbook/planner/crafty embellishment/product?
A | Definitely the pretty papers and enamel dots (or nail polish, if I don’t have enamel dots on hand) - they always round off a project.

Q | What do you Netflix/binge watch?
A | I just finished watching all episodes of Modern Family. It’s so funny and I can’t wait for the new season to start soon but in order to pass the time until then I started watching Revenge (again..) - I just love how thrilling and gripping it is.

Q | What about you might surprise us?
A | Normally, I would answer this question with ‘Hey, I am a scrapbooker.’, but I guess its not a big surprise in this case..
So let me start again. I used to be a competitive gymnast until I finished High School seven years ago. Today, I am passionate about tumbling and wave surfing. Oh, and I really don’t like coffee.

Q | What motivates you to create?
A | Usually, I fall in love with the products and get restless until I can just dive in and use them to create something beautiful, something that I can be proud of and that helps me to remember all the big and little moments of life.
Another big motivator is the huge paper crafting community on Instagram. I simply love looking at the projects of others and use them as an inspiration and starting point for my own.

Q | When/why did you start memory keeping?
A | I always had this weird affection for stationary products - notebooks, papers, pens and the like. I would enter a local stationary store and just stare and look at all the products, however, I could never really explain why I liked them so much, especially because I couldn't think of anything else that those products could be useful for other than writing down to-do lists and printing documents. Man, was I WRONG. When I came across scrapbooking about 17 months ago, I felt like a knot was unraveled in my heart since I could finally translate that seemingly weird affection into actual projects - something I could be proud of and share with others.

Having discovered scrapbooking changed me, not only in terms of how I gift presents or keep memories for myself and others, but also in the way of how I enjoy life and every moment in it today - it was my missing piece to being a grateful and happy woman.

Q | What project best shows off your style?

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to meet two more lovely ladies.

This was great! I love this statement by Janna, “I just need to watch my hands create something.” I feel the same way!
