Hello crafty friends! Today I am here to share a fun, little Christmas banner I made using the Ivy collection. The best part is that you can have the banner say whatever phrase you prefer. I chose the word “Merry”.
Start by choosing the flag style of your choice. I chose the double chevron style. I selected patterned papers from the 12x12 Ivy papers but the 6x8 papers will also work. Next, I cut out the flag base shapes. They measured about 4 inches by 6 inches.
Then, I cut out coordinating more miniature flags to layer on top of each flag. The smaller flags measured about 3 inches by 4 inches.
I made sure to layer on washi tape or ribbon over each set of flags. To decorate them, I used Ivy fussy-cut poinsettia florals, star stickers, doilies, and fussy-cut tiny houses. All of the pieces are from the Ivy collection.
Next, cut out your chosen phrase using coordinating cardstock papers. To add depth to my banner, I used foam dots to prop my letters up on each flag. My goal was to layer enough embellishments without overdoing them. Last, I punched holes at the top of each end of the flags and strung the banner.
I really hope you are feeling inspired by this Christmas banner. I am so excited to hang this for the holidays.
