Hello FJ friends!
I have a little mini album to share with you today that I’ve created featuring the super gorgeous Hannah Kit!
At the end of last year we brought two little guinea pigs home for our daughter Madison. Let me just say she is a totally devoted piggy owner! She loves those little cuties so much and we’ve been so impressed with how responsible she is and how she does everything by herself to care for them. I thought it would be nice if she had her own little book with her favourite photos and stories about Chewie and Willow.
I decided to use transparency pieces for the front and back covers to help protect the title page and to make it more durable. The title page was decorated with a white tag, a die cut floral, Brie chipboard flair, some epoxy hearts, printed words, Lola fringe trim, a chipboard ampersand and one of the pretty tulle bows (which I adhered on the front of the transparency cover).
The colours in the Hannah Kit were just so perfect for this project. I chose some of the papers from the kit along with some pieces of vellum, white cardstock, a large Heidi Kit Tag, journaling cards, packaging and transparency sheets to create the pages. The album is approximately 4 x 6 inches and most of the pages are cut to that size or smaller.
The inside of the album was so fun to put together and the pages came together quickly using die cuts, stickers, labels and fussy-cut flowers from the Hannah Kit along with stamps, a variety of other FJ goodies and printed journaling. I tried to keep the pages simple so the focus would be on the cute photos and the story behind each one. Most of the photos were printed at 2 x 3 inches while others are 2.5 inches square.
I asked Madi to write down details like their birthdays, personalities, etc since she knows them best.
She also wrote a page of journaling about them which I printed onto vellum and layered over one of the photos.
I included a couple of shaker pockets throughout the album using confetti that I punched from the Hannah kit papers and for one of them I also used some of the Lola heart confetti too.
I was also inspired by the lovely Hannah tulle bows to use more tulle on the front of one of the shaker pockets and I also tied some to the top of the large tag page too.
My decision to create a mini album in this style connected with rings was so that we can continue to add pages to it as time goes on. There are sure to be many more cute photos that Madi will want to include!
In the walk-through video below you can see all of the pages in the album so far and hear the details of how I’ve put each page together.
Mini albums are such a fun little keepsake and make a lovely gift idea too! I hope I’ve been able to give you some ideas that you can use in your next project!
