Hello crafty friends! I am so happy to be here today sharing this layout using the beautiful Mari collection. One of my favorite things are the Felicity Jane chipboard bits. This month’s collection of chipboard bits was full of beautifully patterned hearts and florals. For this layout, I wanted the chipboard bits to be the star of the party. I started with the 12 x 12 Woodgrain and Dotted Line paper from the paper pack. This lightly colored dotted paper is the perfect pattern to give some interest without making the layout too overwhelming.
Next, I punched four slots into each side of my paper to weave embroidery floss across that coordinates with the lovely soft colors of the collection. I made sure the threads would match the chipboard hearts I wanted to showcase.
Then, I layered a piece of 6x6 essentials white cardstock on top of the thread. It was the perfect size to break up the pattern and anchor my picture. I added in the Floral and Window Pane paper for some extra layering. The large, chunky, pink florals are so pretty, I had to include it in the layout.
To complete the layout, I layered all the chunky chipboard bits. I tucked this chipboard floral under my cardstock, then folded the paper back so it could peak out from underneath. I also included some of the die cuts which complement the chipboard bits. My "Mini-Me" title was added using the soft pink chipboard alphas to the left of my photo.
Of course, I couldn’t forget one of the beautiful vellum butterflies. I added one to the corner of my paper with a trail of splatters behind it. This layout came together so easily with the Mari collection.
I hope you have as much fun with this collection as I did.
Happy crafting!
