Hello everyone,
So, how do you like the new Rebekah kit? Isn't she just gorgeous? I love the softness of the colours and the wonderful autumn feel and I cannot wait to show you some new projects!
As for today's blog post I have put together two pocket pages using looooots of journaling cards. Before I begin, I have a little confession to make: journaling cards are my big obsession and I have TONS of them! And those from Felicity Jane are just the best because you can easily mix and match them! Seriously! I took all of them from the packaging and just put them together. I have no idea what kit they are from since they all just go together so well! And if you want to go for a quick pocket page, you are done within a very short time!
On the first spread I was mostly playing with the Shay kit. You know that feeling when you have something fairly new and you can't just get enought of it. This time I went for spring photos because all the flowers are just perfect for that. They are even really good for snowy pictures too!
I like it when I get some repeated pattern or embellishment on my spread. As for the journaling cards, they usually have different patterns and colours so I tend to use some paper to put underneath my photos. This time I went for the Shay kit black and white paper. The mustard yellow flowers go nicely with my daughter's waistcoat. I cut the "hello" title using Jenny Metal Dies and one of the solid colour papers.
As for the 4x6 cards it is always easy to get some white cardstock and decorate it with washi tape. The Jenny kit is perfect for a birthday theme. I think that I am going to use the stamps and metal dies for any upcoming birthdays!
My favourite photo. The blossom tree and pretty flower from the Shay kit.
Here is second pocket page spread. I always have so many pictures and I really struggle to choose just a limited selection. So when putting the spread together I tend to use just a few filling cards (if any) and very little embellishment. The black and white papers help a lot to keep the page neat and tidy.
This puffy alphabet has such a universal font that I am about to use it everywhere!
So there you go! Two pocket pages are in the album and many more to be done. It is good that I have the journaling cards to use! What about you, do you also do pocket pages using the cards or are you more of "a layout" scrapbooker?
