Hello there, sweet friends! It’s been a while since I made a standard scrapbook layout, and I figured it was about time. For this one I wanted to create a fun 8 ½ x 11 layout, that uses a lot of different papers and collections. Inspired by one of my older layouts, I chose an alpha die set that would be perfect for cutting out a hundred different die-cuts to spread around the corners of my page.
I chose 5 different papers that were perfect for matching my color scheme. I started arranging the alphas with my PVA glue around the corners of my layout. I arranged them so that they fit in a nice haphazard pattern on the page. It was a really wonderful way to help draw the eye to the center of the page, where I intended to highlight my photos.
Next I decided to fussy-cut the amazing rose paper in the Hope collection. I wanted these florals to smooth out the rough edges of my alphas, to tie in the center of my layout nicely. I layered on a scrap paper that had been die-cut on and then one of the amazing mini file folders. The file folder made the perfect place to adhere a photo to and add journaling to the inside.
I ran the amazing file folder through my typewriter to add my journaling on the day we spent in St. Louis at a local lake and trail. I liked how the blues, greens, and pinks in the photo were accented by the papers on my layout.
I layered on some scrap papers behind my photos to add some dimension. I finished off my layout by splattering on some paint to add even more detail to my layout. I really like to finish each layout with either some messy stamping or paint splatters. It just really ties in a scrapbook layout for me.
Mixing my FJ collections was oh so fun for this scrapbook layout. I hope you guys are inspired to pull out your stash of FJ goodies and stash bust some layouts in a create way!
