Mixing Kits - Wander Layout | Leigh Ann Odynski

Hello crafty friends! Leigh here, with a layout that mixes the Brooke Kit with four other previous Felicity Jane kits. I had an idea to punch all the leaves I could from the Brooke Kit first, then add coordinating patterns from the Alexis, Zoey, and Autumn, and Mila Kits. This layout is about my recent trip to Ireland.

First, I cut a six and a half inch circle from card stock to use as a stencil for applying a rainbow pigment ink blending technique. Then, I punched enough leaves to go around the outside of the circle, and punched 11 leaves from the Brooke Vellum Squares.

I splattered coordinating watercolors around the circle, then stitched around the first layer of leaves. I stitched down the center of about a dozen more of the leaves and placed them over the first layer with foam dots.

The photo of me in Ireland has a bright yellow door and other bright rainbow colors in it, so I coordinated the colors in the layout to match. I drew pencil lines and hand-lettered my journaling with a black pen. The foam title from the Mila Kit was placed on the layout before the photo, so I could be sure it would fit.

A heart die cut, and a label from the Brooke Die Cut Shapes pack were attached under the photo to ground it on the page. I wrote the word "Ireland" on the label with a pigment ink pen and heat set it so the it was dry before I placed it on the page.

The new Felicity Jane Scalloped Storage Envelopes were perfect to keep excess punched shapes and the vellum pieces after they were punched. This way, they are easy to find, and they don't get damaged or lost, and can be used on another page. I hand-lettered the kit and month on the storage envelope backer for future reference.

Thank you for visiting today, and happy creating!

Leigh
