Mixing & Matching FJ collections | Summer in April Layout | Ulrike Dold

Hi lovelies!

Ulli here with you today sharing a fun project with you! Maybe you also have many pretty FJ paper scraps at home and you want to decrease your stash. All the Felicity Jane collections are perfect to mix them up and today I have an inspiration for you how you can reduce your beautiful stash. I’ve made some mixing and matching with my Felicity Jane paper scraps and embellishments from previous collections and with the gorgeous July collection Elizabeth. Here is the layout Ive created. I love all the candy colors and the summer vibes from the cute Elizabeth chipboard shapes.

Backing cut files with beautiful papers is a perfect to reduce some paper scraps because the scraps don’t have to be very big. For this 12x12 page I used my cutting machine and a sunglasses cut file. I backed it with my photo and with papers from the following collections: Elizabeth, Henley, Megan, Lindsey, Jaimee and Zoey. I collect all my paper scraps in a box and often I think its a shame not to use them. So I’ve searched after papers with matching colors to the Elizabeth collection in yellow, pink, mint and turquoise. I backed all the flowers and branches with many different patterned papers and I love the playful look. I used black and white ones and also colorful papers in candy colors to have this pretty contrast which is typical for Felicity Jane.

I cut a 2 inch paper stripe from the Polka Dot paper with the Hello sunshine script from the Elizabeth collection and glued it on the left border of my 12x12 page. Then I decided where I would place the big sunglasses and used the cute and summery Hello Sunshine stamps to stamp the adorable parasol and the sea stars in the background. I glued the sun glasses with 3 D glue dots on the page. Then I used the pretty Summer Die Cut Shape, a FJ Polka Dot Alphabet and the colorful Chipboard Alphabet from the Elizabeth collection to glue my title on the page. I began to decorate my page with the lovely Elizabeth Chipboard Shapes. I began on the bottom of the layout with the flip flops and the ice cream and made a virtuell line from there to the right side, to the title and to the left side of the sun glasses. There I ended with the super cute Sun Chipboard shape. I also used some tropical leaves, made with the Elizabeth Solid papers and some metal dies, and some Die Cut Shapes from the Elizabeth and the Megan collection to intensify this optical line.

I wrote the place and the year where the picture was taken on the right glass of the sun glasses and splattered black ink across my page. I also began with it on the bottom and followed my virtual line with the embellishments. Then I glued more tropical leaves under the big cut file to got a playful look and added the Jaimee puffy word Happy above my picture.

To finish off my page I used little embellishments lit Megan Puffy Hearts, Elizabeth Epoxy Shapes, Kate Epoxy Hearts, Zoey Mini Puffy Shapes and the super cute Elizabeth lemon confetti. Maybe you see that I could hardly stop adding embellishments on this layout. But maybe you can agree: sometimes more is more.

I hope I could inspire you to mix your previous Felicity Jane collections and to use some paper scraps. Its so much fun!

Until the next time. See you soon!

xo, Ulli
