Hi crafty friends! Leigh here, and today I am sharing a layout about my Dad. Have you been inspired by an advertisement you saw? I noticed an ad that looked office inspired and thought the clipboard style fit for a page about my Dad. He did always have a clipboard for all our soccer practices, so it is symbolic. I have been on a symbolism kick lately.
The wood grain paper from the 2017 December Kit, worked as a paper layer like the inspiration piece. I trimmed it to 8.5x11 and then trimmed off at least .75 inches all the way around, and placed it on top of the aqua solid from a past FJ Kit.
I chose a white title like the inspiration piece, from the Mila Kit Foam Stickers. I punched stars and hearts in different sizes to coordinate with the photos in different sizes that span quite a few decades. Changing the photos to black and white, allowed me to focus on the pink and aqua color scheme.
From this angle, you can see the layers under the photos a little better. I added some craft foam under three of the photos to create some dimension and interest to the page. I stitched the punched stars and hearts on in a zig zag stitch, and lifted up the edges of all the shapes so they didn't lay flat on the background.
All the photos were layered with a rose gold FJ heart paper clip, and a patterned paper. Some of them have smaller punched shapes and some have the Brie Kit Chipboard Flair on them.
I hope you get a chance to document a father figure in your life and have a great weekend.
Leigh
