Have you had the chance to play with the gorgeous Kayla Kit yet? The colours and elements are so fun and I couldn’t wait to create another monthly spread in my FJ My Memories Notebook! Today I’m excited to share with you the spread I’ve created with my April photos.
I started off by printing my photos, then chose four Kayla Journaling Cards and one of the awesome Kayla Cardstock Photo Frame Pockets then worked out how I wanted to arrange the page.
At the top of the first page is my title card. I used the colourful grid journaling card and stamped “2022” down the side using the awesome new About Time Stamp Set. I love the size of these numbers! I added the word “April” with the lovely Kayla Vellum Alphabet Stickers and stitched across the letters with my sewing machine, then added a die cut floral piece on the side.
Next to the title card is the pink cardstock photo frame pocket and I’ve slotted my photo inside with a little double side tape on the back to hold it perfectly in place. I then added the “love this” die cut piece and a yellow heart in the bottom left corner.
At the bottom of the first page is a photo of my husband and I out to dinner. I simply added two die cut hearts at the top of the photo and stapled them in place.
The beautiful green journaling card is next to this photo and I’ve used it to frame one of the journaling tags. I’ve printed my text directly onto the tag using my printer and stitched around the edge. It turns out that I didn’t check my typing closely enough so there is a typo but I’m happy to leave it as is since the tag is just so pretty! I added the light blue reinforcer piece to the top of the tag and added a twine bow.
At the top off the second page is more journaling. The colourful bold stripes on this card definitely makes this one of my favourites! I added my printed journaling, stitched across the top and adhered a die cut heart in centre of the stitching.
There is a photo of my husband with his gyrocopter next to the journaling and I’ve added the “outdoorsy” die cut piece at the top with a little stitching.
There is a photo of our coffee cups at the bottom left of the second page from one of our coffee dates. I’ve used the Abigail Stamp Set to stamp “yes please” onto some cardstock and added it to a die cut label at the bottom of the photo.
The yellow gingham journaling card finishes off the spread. I printed some journaling and tore the edges instead of using my trimmer for something a little different and I love the texture it adds to the page. I stitched a border around the card and across the top of the journaling, added a miniwide paper clip, a die cut heart and a pretty die cut floral piece.
You can see my process in the video below...
I love how colourful this spread turned out using the Kayla Kit and I’m really enjoying this My Memories Notebook project of monthly spreads too. I hope I’ve given you some ideas to use on your next project!
