My Memories Notebook Spread with the Reese Kit | Sheree Forcier

Hello friends! It’s Sheree here today to share a new My Memories Notebook spread featuring the awesome new Reese collection.  I'm doing one double page project each month throughout this year in my notebook and this spread is documenting what our month of March looked like.

There were so many fun journaling cards to choose from in the kit this month! I chose seven of them and got to work with the fun bit…embellishing!

The first card at the top left of the spread is the beautiful floral card. I wanted this to be my title card so I added a pink die cut label at the top, added some stitching, then made a little cluster with a die cut heart, the word “March” in puffy alphabet stickers and a printed “moments” word. I also sewed a cute tiny button from the Abigail Kit onto the heart and added a little more stitching.

Next to this is a 3 x 4 inch photo. I added the “love this” die cut piece and a gold star before adding some stitching.

At the bottom of the first page is the tag card. I trimmed the top corners and punched out the hole with a 5/16” circle punch. I then stitched a border around the edge and tied some twine a the top. My photo on this tag is approximately 2.5 x 1.75 inches and I positioned some printed journaling underneath. The “grateful” die cut and a star were added to the bottom of the photo then I attached a mini wide paper clip to the side and stitched across the journaling.

Next to this is the pretty ampersand card. I stitched around the edge with my machine, then used some yellow embroidery thread to hand stitch some little French knots into the centre of the flowers. I love the subtle texture it adds to the card! I also stamped the words “photos” and “memories” onto some white cardstock, cut them out and positioned them on either side of the ampersand.

At the top of the second page is a photo that I backed with the blue grid “chapter 5” card. I stitched around the edge, added “the good life” and stitched across that too before finishing with another gold star.

At the top right of this page is a little pocked card I created using the multi-stripe card. I cut the white half of the card off and decided to add different rows of hand stitching to each stripe to give it lots of texture and add some interest. I used a stitching template from my stash and a paper piercer to poke my holes and found embroidery thread to closely match each of the stripe colours, then got to work. I find hand stitching things like this so relaxing and the result is always worth that extra bit of time it takes to do it!

I cut some white cardstock to 3 x 4 inches and stitched around the edge, then added my stitched pocket front with thin foam tape at the sides and bottom. I added a tab with “the story” stamped onto white cardstock using the Abigail Stamp Set to the top of my printed journaling, then I tucked my photo and journaling into the pocket.

At the bottom left of the second page is the purple card with a photo of my Mum. I added a stitched border around the purple section, then positioned my printed journaling in the white section at the bottom of the card before stitching across that too. To finish off this card I added a purple die cut heart to the side and hand stitched another tiny button.

The last card was difficult for me to add and I wasn’t quite sure how to do it. My Dad sadly passed away suddenly in March, which I’m still coming to terms with, but I wanted to try to write down some words. I finally decided to keep it simple and made the journaling hidden with some vellum. I printed the words directly onto the lined notepaper card, attached the vellum on top with some stitching, then added the beautiful floral die cut on top with the printed words “Missing you Dad xx”. I also added some stitching.

Once the cards were all complete I simply adhered them all into the My Memories Notebook.
