My Week Album | Suse Fish

My Week Album | Suse Fish

I wonder if you’ve ever challenged yourself to keep your camera handy for an entire week? I decided to pop mine in my backpack wherever I went so that I could document the everyday beauty of my life: the beach walks, the school runs and the coffee shops (there were *lots* of coffee shops!) And when I spotted this little revision organiser in our local newsagents, I knew it would be the perfect home for all of these snaps of my daily life.

I think this is one of the few projects I’ve made where the journalling actually out-weighs the pretty stuff! Rare for me, but I did want to try and record as much as I could about what it’s like to live on this lovely little island, as we’ll only be here for four more years.

The August Jeana kit was so perfect for this project with it’s focus on family and growth. It’s an interesting challenge, being a ministry family, as it can be tricky to put down proper roots, but I loved the idea of ‘blooming where we’re planted’ - one of the themes of the kit.

I think my favourite page in the entire book is this one because of the delightful flocked rose - doesn’t it look stunning? It even manages to steal focus from our neighbour’s cheeky cat (which she doesn’t let happen very often!)

This project was so delightfully simple to put together, as the beauty was all there in the kit, just waiting to be sprinkled through my plain pages. I love how each element is so perfect that there’s no layering whatsoever required - each piece becomes the star of it’s own page.

I’m especially pleased with the cover… in fact, I keep picking the little album up and just stroking that coral tassel! Isn’t there just so much beauty in these kits of ours? As I always think, they’re: “Heaven in a black and white striped box!”

I hope you enjoy my videos: the first shows my process and the second is a flip-thru of the book once I’d completed the journalling too.

Hope you have fun documenting your everyday life with this sweet, fresh kit.

Hi there

I have had a 3 year break from crafting and fancy getting back in to it. I’m thinking a mini album about our summer at the beach. I love love love this album, can I ask where you got it from? Size etc. I am so out of the loop. I am in love with all of the collections but think I’m leaning towards brooke for this first album. Just unsure what kind of album I want to make. Thanks in advance for any answers.
