I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! I'm excited to be here sharing my first layout on the FJ blog for 2019 using the lovely Jill kit! I absolutely adore the combination of the mustard, pinks and grey in this kit, and it was perfect for documenting a beautiful photo of my eldest daughter Abigail. I wanted to scrapbook this photo to document how much I love her new short hairstyle!
I decided on using the diamonds patterned paper for my background, and then chose a heart cut file which I backed with some of the other gorgeous patterned papers from the kit. I added some machine stitching to the cut file and I adhered it with some foam tape to give it some extra dimension. I positioned it so that it was partly sitting off the page and on an angle. I love how pretty those patterned papers look showing through the cut file!
Next I matted my photo with one of the solid color papers from the kit, and I added some additional layers behind the photo using a journaling card and a tag. I also created a little cluster of embellishments on the bottom left hand corner of the photo that includes a die cut label as well as the piece that says 'Love You' which I cut out of one of the journaling cards. To finish the photo cluster off I tucked in one of the beautiful acetate florals pieces.
To balance out the photo cluster in the bottom left hand corner of the page, I created another cluster in the top right. This one includes a die cut floral, a chipboard piece, and another acetate floral cluster. I think these might be one of my favourite items in the kit!
I added my title and journaling underneath the cluster on the right. To create my title I combined the Joy foam alphabet stickers with the Heidi Epoxy alphabets. (These are both currently on sale in the shop).
To finish the layout off I scattered a few acetate hearts around the page.
Thanks so much for joining me here today! I can't wait to share another project using the beautiful Jill kit later this month!
