This year I’m starting a new little project just for me in my favourite Note To Self Binder. I’m planning on creating pages/spreads throughout the year to document things such as where I am right now, things I love, goals, challenges I’m working through and things I want to remember. I’m excited to be working with the beautiful Jill kit for my first spread! I absolutely love the gorgeous greys and pinks and the splashes of mustard!
To start this project my first spread is titled “New Year New Goals”. I wanted to write about where I am right now and how I’m feeling about the year ahead. I began by typing up my journaling on the computer, then I printed it out onto one of the Note To Self A5 Grid Inserts. First I printed on normal printer paper, then I positioned the A5 Grid Insert page over the top, adhered with some washi across the top, then ran it through my printer again.
With my journaling taken care of, I grabbed another grid page, my photo and some of my favourite papers from the Jill Kit. I create a layered mix of papers to go behind my photo, added some machine stitching then positioned it onto the page with one of the acetate florals tucked under the right side. I used one of the pretty pink mini wide clips to attach a die cut label, then added two more die cuts. I also added a tassel and tag to some twine to hang from the paper clip as well.
Under the photo I added the Jill Puffy Alphabet Stickers for the title, then did a little stamping. I chose stamps from the Essentials Mini Stamp Set 1, Essentials Mini Stamp Set 2, Heidi Stamp Set and one from and older FJ stamp set called London.
Next I added a mustard scallop strip across the top of each page. This was cut from the solid color paper in the kit. I added some stitching to each strip before adhering them to the page.
For the journaling page I added a stamp from the Henley stamp set above the text, then stamps from the Jill Stamps and Heidi Stamps at the bottom of the page. Some cute die cuts, acetate hearts and little star puffy stickers finished off the spread.
You can see my process in the video below…
I’m really looking forward to continuing work on this new project throughout the year. I’m excited to scrap in this different, smaller size to mix things up a little and it will be fun to add in bits and pieces of memorabilia, etc as the year goes on too which will be so easy with the rings in this binder!
I hope I’ve encouraged you to try scrapping in a different format to what you might usually do. It’s always fun to try something new! I’ll share more pages from my binder with you soon.
Thank you for joining me on the blog today!
