Hi you lovely bunch!

Danielle here with another project for you. This week, I’m creating a mini album of a summer holiday from a few years ago. May as well document those previous summer holidays as 2020 appears to be cancelled - haha

In 2017 my husband and I finally got to do something we’d been plotting for a few years and had a gorgeous holiday in the Lake District. We stayed in Windemere in a cute converted barn and had the best time walking, eating and sailing our way around the beautiful national park.

After going through all the papers in this fabulous Amanda kit, I just knew the colour palette would work perfectly with the yellows, greens and blues of my photographs. I went to work laying my photos next to corresponding papers and die cuts (what a mess my desk looked) and started cutting everything to journal card size.

I used the yummy Amanda stamp set to ink cute phrases straight onto my scenic photographs and added sweet embellishments – the chipboard pieces, the die cuts and the puffy shapes were all great for finishing off my pages.

I backed all my papers/photos with either journal cards or other papers to strengthen the pages. I like to do this with mini albums as they do need to be a bit more hard-wearing. I used a corner punch to add a nice detail to each page too – again, I find if you corner punch the pages they tend to get less beaten up over time.

Once I had decided the order in which I wanted to display my pages, I punched through them all and attached them with white book rings from my stash. I added some die cuts and chipboard pieces to the cover (who else is in love with that lemon paper) and wrapped some green twine around the bottom of the album to hold it all together.

So, there we go – my chonky little mini album of my Lake District holiday. I really love it and I hope it encourages you to document one of your past holidays with this scrummy kit.
