Hello Felicity Jane friends. This is Lynne with my first project using the ever-so-gorgeous Sarah kit. I had nothing but super heart eyes for the deep, rich blues in this kit as soon as the previews came out. I knew that using the blue and white floral paper would be a must as soon as I saw it. This picture of my son from last year worked out perfect for it.
I tried to keep this one fairly simple. The paper is just so pretty all by itself that there was not a lot of decorating needed. I ended up cutting the polka dot strip from the kit insert with the images of the kit contents and using that across the bottom of both sides of this layout. There was a little extra piece left over that worked perfect for an extra layer behind my photo, and also helped tie in the polka dots on top and bottom, as well as left and right. I also did something a little unusual for me and angled the dark blue layer behind my photo instead of lining it up straight. Crazy, I know!
Next, I fussy cut the blue scallop from the blue paper to add if the bottom of the left side. Then it was on to the title. I wasn’t sure when I put this together what the title would be, but when I saw the “smile” in the puffy title stickers in this month’s kit, it ended up coming together with the addition of the white puffy alpha stickers from the Jill kit as “Ninjas don’t smile.” The final step was to add a few of the epoxy dots for a bit of embellishment and then I called this one done.
