Hey everyone!
Tiffany here with the first few pages in my 2021 album, which I'm keeping in my Note to Self binder. I love this format because it's not too big and easy for me to keep my yearly memories in. I absolutely LOVE the new Krystal kit and it was very difficult to pick just one favorite. But I narrowed it down to the very cute wood veneer shapes. I just love the little flower pieces!
I created my album cover page first. I used the itty bitty polka dot acetate page from the Coco kit and layered it over that beautiful pink floral from the Krystal kit, which I put in a 6x8 page protector. On top of the acetate, I used the Coco chipboard numbers to write out 2021, adding one of the Krystal wood veneer hearts in the center of the zero. I then used the Bailey puffy alphabets to write out "hello." I put the alphas on a bit of black ribbon, which I then glued to the chipboard numbers. I kept my cover page very simple and I love how it turned out.
For my first spread, I detailed my One Little Word--or in my case, a guiding phrase--for the year. I always like including something of my word--if I have one--in my album. This year, I'm going with "a gentle unfurling," so I documented that at the beginning.
On the left side, I printed out one of my creative self portrait photos in 6x8 to fit into that page protector. This particular photo is all about my struggle with wanting more in life, so I paired it with a few pieces from the Krystal die cut pack that read "Big Dreams" and "Finding joy in my journey." I thought both of those sentiments were perfect for this particular intention setting spread.
On the right side I have my guiding phrase for the year and my journaling about my supporting words and what they mean to me. I used that pink gingham paper and one of the monthly 3x8 journaling cards as my base. I then created a cluster using the Krystal packaging card, a white doily, a few die cut pieces, and other little embellishments like the chipboard and those lovely wood veneers. I used the Bailey and Krystal puffy alphas to write out my guiding phrase so that it frames the page.
I used those cute flower wood veneer pieces as both decorative elements and as bullet points for my journaling, where I journaled out my supporting words. I added all of my more dimensional pieces to the outside of the page protector, so as not to warp it. I really love how my 2021 album is starting out!
