Hi Friends! It's Thanksgiving week here in the US and I'm looking forward to the holiday. This year, we're traveling to visit family and I put together my planner spread for this week with that information in mind. The new Felicity Jane Oh Deer and Hello Christmas kits are so versatile and I found so many products that can work in various types of papercrafting. I was especially excited to see that I had a variety of options that could be used in my planner. (I'm using the A5 Vertical Planner inserts designed by Plan2Create that are available in the Felicity Jane shop.) The washi tape, letter stickers, stamps, acetate shapes, chipboard numbers, cut-apart sticker sheet and patterned paper branding strips all work so well together and I had so much fun putting together this spread.
As I've mentioned before, I'm usually a pretty "flat" scrapper and don't use a lot of bulky embellishments, especially in my planner. However, those chipboard number circles won me over this month and they're probably one of my favorite items in the Hello Christmas kit. Even though they're chipboard, they're not very thick and totally worked in my planner spread this week. I've learned it's always worth trying something new so don't be afraid to use what might be considered a non-traditional supply for your planner. You might just surprise yourself with how versatile certain products are and how much you love them!
I also thought the cut-apart sticker sheet and acetate shapes were really fun touches to add color and interest to this spread without adding too much bulk. The acetate shapes also added a nice texture without seeming too "heavy".
The stamp set this month was another favorite. So many cute phrases and icons that can be used for so many different types of projects during the holidays. Below is a closer look at the stamping I did on this spread. I used the "family" stamp to indicate some of the days we'll be with family and the "thankful for you" and "I love us" stamps to mark our 11th wedding anniversary. I love that the sayings are so versatile and can be used for a number of occasions. I also used some other stamps in my stash to add lines to the first three days of the week.
As always, I love adding some washi tape and strips of patterned paper to my planner pages not only as a decorative touch but also as a way to divide my days. I was so happy to see that there were a few different washi tape designs in the Felicity Jane shop this month and I will be using them on many projects in the future! Also, how cute is that bow clip? It was another new item in the shop this month that I totally fell in love with instantly!
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my project this week. I'm having such a great time working with this month's kits and will be back to share more project ideas over the next few weeks. Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!
