Hey friends! I’m so excited to be back on the blog today with a layout using the Jeana kit, and a sketch for you to use to recreate the layout yourself!
I went a little out of my comfort zone and used one of the patterned papers for my background. Usually I go with a piece of white cardstock, but I loved the subtle pattern on this paper so much, I couldn’t resist. I left the branding strip on the bottom because I love the pop of blue against the pattern. If you do the same, be sure to trim half of an inch off the top of your page so it will still fit in your 12x12 page protectors.
All of the patterned and solid papers from this kit are perfect and I couldn’t decide which to use! I went with a bunch of layers behind each of my photos so I could use a variety of them.
Once my photos were in place I added a large title below them, along with a small bit of journaling, and a label to hold the dates.
From there, I created small embellishment clusters around the layout. I always use the rule of three, and place my clusters in three different places on the layout. This helps with the flow and makes everything feel balanced.
I used the fun tassel bows, chipboard hearts, and sequins to create my clusters.
Then I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in the top left corner to balance the black on the layout. The stamp is diagonal from my journaling, which is written in a bold black pen. I finished off the layout with splatters of gold craft mist.
I absolutely love the way this layout turned out and cannot get enough of the gorgeous Jeana kit! If you give this sketch a try, be sure to tag your photos on Instagram with the hashtag #FelicityJane and #FJsketches so we can see what you create!
I’ll be back later this month with more crafty inspiration! Talk to y’all soon!
