Planting Flowers | Banning Lane

Hi friends! Dannielle here, and I am so excited to show you my newest layout made with the super gorgeous "Summer" kit. Before I get into all the little details, let me show you my finished layout.

I am loving all the colors of this new kit. I am seriously having the hardest time using any of my new goodies because I just want to hoard them all.

So as you can see, my layout tells the story of my daughter and I planting our flowers for the year. My journaling talks about how much I enjoy this yearly tradition that my daughter and I have. This year was especially great because my little London was so excited to get those flowers in the dirt. She was totally in charge of the whole process this year, and honestly that made me smile so much.

I had a handful of photos that I wanted to use. In that situation my go to design is a grid layout, which happens to be my favorite. I sized my photos to 3x3 and then played around with the papers from the kit until I was happy with the balance of color and design.

The flowers from this kit immediately caught my attention, probably because I was telling a story of us planting flowers! I had two squares that needed a bit of embellishment, so I picked two of the flower die cut shapes to add to those squares. I absolutely love the look of them.

My next step was add my journaling. I pulled a tag from my stash to write my story on. I have said it before, but man do I love a tag! I used a couple of stamps to spruce up my journaling just a bit, and I have a feeling I am going to be using that date stamp over and over again. I just love the look of it.

As a finishing touch, I decided to create a boarder using the great wood grain paper from the kit, and adding a bit of stitching.

I am so super happy with how this layout turned out, and I can't wait to create more layouts using this months kit.
