Pocket Page + Sketch | Adelina Starace
Today I'm sharing a pocket page sketch and a layout I did using it. I'm also going to show you one of my favorite ways of journaling for my mini-album.
The first thing I did was look for photos I thought would really speak to my story. This is a layout about my son. I picked photos that really show details about where he's at during this time of his life. He loves to sit for hours drawing. He's quite the artist. He is really silly! He also loves to be on a beach in his rain boots. This usually results in pants that are soaked from splashing in waves. *laugh*
The first photo is a close-up of him drawing. I like to capture little details about my kids at every age - their small hands, how they held their pencil, and the way they tilt their heads when they're deep in thought. I used a washi sticker from the Henley kit and added a puffy heart from the Brooke kit to this photo. I liked that the washi sticker was transparent.
Next I cut down a piece of the Alexis Stripes & Spots paper to 3x4 and adhered a glassine bag to it. I used a bit of washi tape and stapled the "my story" chipboard piece from the Henley kit. Next I took a tag from the Brie kit and wrote my journaling on the back. I added some twine that matched the color of my layout and tucked the tag into the tiny bag. This is my favorite way to add journaling to my mini-albums. I don't mind having typing or writing on my layouts, but sometimes you just want it to be pretty! Am I right, ladies?!
For the photo of my son being silly, I added a journal card I cut down, some washi tape and a chipboard piece from the Henley kit. I finished off those layers with a couple of staples. If you can't tell already, I love adding staples to my layouts!
Finally for the last pocket, I added some puffy alphas. I thought this was a nice finishing touch for the layout. A bold title always looks good, even for a pocket page layout.
