Pocket Pages | Sheree Forcier

Hello everyone!

If you’re like me, the realization has just set in how close we are to the end of the year and how many projects I still need to finish!  I’m playing catch up on some of my pocket pages today using bits and pieces from a mix of FJ kits.

This spread has photos from three dates in August this year.  To start off with I decided the basic layout of my photos then went about choosing which journaling cards I wanted to use for each day.  I love using the journaling cards from the digital versions of the kits so that I can type my text directly onto the cards before printing them out.  I chose cards from the Alexis and Henley kits then added the text using Photoshop.  I also typed some journaling to be cut into a tag shape later,  then printed them all out together onto some thick white paper.

The first date was all about Madi and her dance group winning first and second ribbons at the Eisteddfod.  It was the first time Madi had competed on stage and she was so excited!  I used the Heidi stamp set to add a phrase to the top of the photo, added a puffy star and some stitching, then stamped the date at the bottom of the accompanying journaling card to complete the day.

The second day was all about the fun cupcakes we bought that day while we were out.  The proceeds were going directly to help farmers currently being affected by the drought so of course we were more than happy to support such a worthy cause…and enjoy the cupcakes too!  I added the #YES stamp from the London stamp set the photo along with some stitching.  I cut the printed journaling into a tag shape, added a reinforcer piece and some twine, then attached it to a Brie journaling card with some stitching.  To finish this one off I stamped the date and adhered a Brie chipboard flair arrow.

The second page of the spread was about a sneaky weekday date to the cinema Paul and I went on while the kids were at school.  We don’t get to do this very often, so it was fun!  I kept the first Willow journaling card simple, just adding some machine stitching at the bottom for a little texture.  For the heart card, I pierced some hole and hand stitched around the edge of the heart before adding a Brie chipboard flair.

At the bottom of the page I already had the text printed out onto the Henley journaling card but I also had the ticket photocopied to use as well which was quite faint, so I decided to make a flap to go on top that would also hide the ticket inside.  I used the Bold alphabet stamps to stamp the word movies along the side of a plain white card, then added some printed text, some stitching and a die cut heart.

The ticket was adhered to the back, then I attached the flap directly to the page protector with the Hannah scallop washi and machine stitched along the outer edge for extra strength.  For the photo I added some printed text, some stitching and a little puffy heart.

Do you still have some projects you’d like to finish before the end of the year?  I have a few on the go and it feels good to make a little progress and play with some older kits as I go along too…so fun!

I’m off to print some more photos now so I can work on the next spread!  I’ll see you again soon!
