Pretty Amazing Layout | Kathleen Graumüller

Hey there! :) It’s Kathleen here again and can I just say: I am SO ready for fall! And the Heidi kit with its scrumptious, non-traditional fall colours is absolutely perfect!

And while I did make a fall-themed project with the kit, today I want to share a layout with you that has nothing to do with fall. Because the colours are great for any kind of project and that’s what I love about them.

I had this idea of making a layout about joining the Felicity Jane Creative Team in my mind and the announcement photo printed for a while now. When I saw that die cut circle with “dream“ written on it, I knew I had to use it for this LO!

I layered the photo on a piece of patterned paper and then layered this on one of the journaling cards from the kit. Before that I used some white gesso and a stencil to create that bubble pattern beneath it and give the page some texture. I love working with white gesso because it adds texture without making a layout too busy. I also continued the floral pattern of the journaling card with some of the flower and branch die cuts and then layered the “dream“ circle on top of that. To make the individual pieces stand out, I like to use foam dots to add some dimension.

The “Pretty Amazing“ sentiment from the Heidi stamp set was perfect for my title because it is quite appropriate for that page. To me it really is pretty amazing that I got to join this fabulous team of amazing ladies all promoting those beautifully curated kits!

By now I think you know I’m not a fan of my handwriting. However, I really wanted to add at least a few words about my thoughts and feelings about this on my layout but there was no room for hidden journaling (I had already very safely secured my papers and photos ;) ). So I cut down a piece of vellum, added some journaling with my typewriter and then stitched that onto my layout below the title.

For some more dimension and colour, I added the border on the left and layered some pieces of paper on the lower half. The cute white pompom ribbon was from last year’s Felicity kit and I have now used up every last bit of it!

I have to say that I am really pleased with how this layout turned out! The mix of different embellishments, textures and dimensions makes it really fun to look at and explore (if I might say so myself :D )

I hope you enjoyed this layout just as much! Thanks for stopping by today :)
