Happy Friday FJ Friends!
I always love exploring the new kit each month and the beautiful Krystal Kit is just full of fun things to play with! For today’s “Friday Favorites” post I wanted to share with you how I’ve used the awesome sticky notes that are included in the kit.
I love that they come on their own clear backing sheet that already has the 6 holes punched down the side so you can slip them straight into your planner…so handy! Of course, they are the perfect accessory for your planner and just the thing you need for quick notes when you need to write something down…but there are lots of other things you can do with them too! Today I’ve used them on this A5 notebook spread in two different ways…for my journaling and to add a layer behind my photo!
I started off by cutting my background pages to size. I like to create my pages outside the notebook so that I can add things like stitching and staples, then I adhere the pages in once they’re done.
To add the journaling to my sticky notes I measured the white space of the notes, then created three text boxes in Photoshop to add my journaling into. I printed them out onto a sheet of plain paper.
I then went back into Photoshop, made sure to ‘turn off’ the text box borders so they were no longer visible, then I positioned the sticky notes over the top of the printed journaling. I used a light pad underneath so that I could see where the text would be printed onto the notes but you could also hold them up against a window too.
Since they are sticky notes, they already had the adhesive to hold them on the paper, but I did add some washi tape to the bottom edge of each sticky note to make sure they stayed flat. I ran the piece of paper with the sticky notes through my printer again and I love that the lines of text aligned perfectly with the lines on the notes!
I adhered all three journaled notes down the second page of my spread, then used my sewing machine to stitch a border around each page, and across the top of each sticky note. To decorate each note I used the mug, house and branch die cut shapes along with a little wooden heart on the first two. I also added a title to each note using the Lola Mini Puffy Alphabet Stickers.
For the bottom journaled note I used a flower and phrase from the Chipboard Bits pack.
For the first page of the spread I used another sticky note to go in behind the top edge of the photo. This helped to tie the two pages together by adding the black grid pattern onto this page. I tucked one of the gorgeous floral die cuts under the right side of the photo, then used the Krystal Puffy Alphabet Stickers to add “right now” down the left side.
I added stitching to the title and across the sticky note above the photo then added the chipboard phrase too.
I stamped the date onto a die cut label using my FJ Roller Date Stamp, then punched a small hole in the end. I also punched a hole into the green chipboard banner piece then threaded them onto some twine from my stash along with the cute gold heart charm. I attached them to the top right of the photo using a black miniwide paper clip.
