Hi FJ friends,
Ulli here with you today and I want to share a cute little disc mini book with the gorgeous Amanda collection with you. When I saw the colors and the travel theme of the wonderful Amanda collection I was deeply in love at first sight and I knew I would have to make a mini book from our trip to Austria last year. Some weeks ago I made a disc mini album for the first time and it was so much fun. I still had some pinkish small discs here and so I decided I have to make a second one - this time with super pretty Felicity Jane papers and embellishments. When you have a Punch Board for a disc planner you have to give it a try. It is so easy and with matching disc colors a mini album look so cute.
I decided to use the wonderful Amanda journaling cards with the size 3 x 4 inch for this small travel album. This size is perfect to use 4 little discs for the binding. I used a planner punch for discs and first I made the cover. I used the journaling card with the flowers and glued a card made from white cardstock on the back to get a thicker cover. I punched it and decorated this page with the wonderful Amanda Die Cuts and Chipboard Bits. I used the cute little black puffy alphabet and glued it on an Amanda label and I used 3 D dots to add more dimension. I also used the wonderful Amanda travel stamp set and stamped the phrase "Here we go!" under my title.
I wanted to use a vellum page before my first picture from our daily morning view from the balcony and so I cut a piece of 3 x 4 inch vellum paper. Then I embossed it with a dot embossing folder and added the cute little stars from the Amanda Die Cut Shapes on some of the dots. I also added some silver sequins between the stars. I glued some of the wonderful floral Amanda Washi Tape on the left side of the white page. I printed out a little journaling on vellum and glued this vellum paper strip on the blue Amanda label. I added some of the cute circular puffy shapes on the left and the right side. I added the label on the top of the page and hung the super cute yarn rainbow from the Amanda Die Cut Shapes on it. I stamped the month and the year of our trip on the bottom of this page too. For this I’ve used the cute and versatile FJ roller date stamp.
I glued the star puffy shapes from the Amanda collection on the back of the vellum and also added sequins on the positions of the sequins on the back. The next page is made from the packaging of the FJ Amanda Chipboard Bits. I used it as a flip page in my album and glued on the back a big picture. I added there a little Amanda label and the the title "love it" with the Amanda Alphabet and the Mini Puffy Alphabet in white.
On the next picture you can see the flip page from the FJ packaging. To cover the printing on the packaging I cut a picture in the matching size and glued it over the print. I decorated it with Amanda die cuts and the black puffy alphabet. I really love the scalloped border of the FJ packaging and I also like to use it on layouts and other projects too.
For the inside I cut a picture in two pieces and glued it in this page and on the flap. I decorated it with Amanda chipboard bits and a piece of paper where I´ve stamped 'fresh air" with the Amanda Stamp set.
For the next page I used the cute Amanda journaling card with the stars. I used a punch to shape my picture to a circle and glued it on the page. I decorated it with the cute die cut lemons and the Essentials Puffy Alphabet in Dusty Rose and the Tiny Dots Puffy Alphabet. I also added some puffy shapes here and there.
The back of the star journaling card I decorated with a photo, two Amanda labels and I also fussy cut the tiny lemons of the lemon journaling card. Aren’t these tiny lemons cute!? One of the amazing things you can do with a disc binding is to add some big ephemera pieces in your mini too. Here I added the die cut shape "Life" after punching it with my planner punch board and it is a cute little highlight in my mini now. On the back of this die cut shape I added the word summer with two different FJ puffy alphabets.
The next page I’ve made from a piece of cardstock in 5 x 4 Inch. I used a folding tool and scored it at 3 inches so I got a flip page with a 2 inch wide flap. I punched this page and filled it with pictures and added some die cut shapes on it and some of the cute Amanda puffy shapes. I also added the word "Fun" with the Tiny Dot Puffy Alphabet on the black and white picture. To use the tassel banner in this page I cut it in two pieces.
For the back of the page with a flap I fussy cut the rainbow from the rainbow journaling card and glued the rainbow strips on the page. I stamped with the Amanda Stamp set the phrase "a little sunshine" between the strips and glued one of the cute little black hearts from the Amanda alphabet beside it. The black and white picture I decorated with fussy cut hearts from the Amanda paper "Sketched Spots & Hearts". They are very tiny but its worth it. They look so cute when you add them on your projects.
The "play" journaling card matched perfectly to some pictures of our little boy and so this card is the next page. I punched my picture in a circle shape, glued it under the word "play" and stamped the words "So Much To See" under it. I used an acetate paper with black tiny dots to add between the two pages. It is a cute eye-catcher and an acetate paper is no problem for the planner punch.
I couldn’t resist to add to every color on the next page with the rainbow speech bubble journaling card matching puffy shapes and I love how it turned out. I also used the Amanda Stamp Set here.
I wanted to add the cute summer journaling card as a page between two pages and as a frame for a family picture and so I punched a hole into it. I placed the picture on the last page on the right and then I decorated the circle border above and below with the cute Amanda Puffy Shapes. On the other side I added a black and white picture with some die cut shapes and the "outdoor adventures" stamp. I also checked the height before so this picture is also in the circle frame when you flip through the mini book.
I added the wonderful floral die cut shape on the left page and some puffy dots in pink and yellow there. On the last page I decorated our family picture with the "scenic route" chipboard piece, the "Family Time" stamp and pink and blue puffy hearts. Pink for the girls and blue for the boys in our family.
At the end I used a thin string to hang a black and a white Joy tassel and two chipboard bits on it. To add the chipboard bits I punched a little hole in the sweet ice cream bit. I knotted all on the disc on the top of the album and used the wonderful essentials cotton ribbon in the color forest green to make a bow on it too.
