Hi FJ fans,
Are you also so excited about the Julia kit like us? The kit is so fresh! I am especially loving the green and the florals! Once again I am just amazed how well you can coordinate all the different Felicity Jane materials! And what is the best project for combining all the goodies? A mini album!!
This project was a bit of a first for me since the mini album is without photos. Lockdown makes the process of getting photos developed a bit complicated. But I have to say I really enjoyed the process. It gives you a bit more freedom when creating and this kind of album and is actually pretty good for adding some extra pages or taking some prepared away (if I need to).
Let me tell you something about the album construction. I got inspired by a German scrapbooker and it is so simple that it is actually just genius! I went for an acetate foil for the cover and I trimmed the front part to make it more interesting. The size of the album is approximetaly 6x6 inch. In the spine there are two rubber bands that hold the individual papers. There is no gluing or stitching. Any additional page just goes underneath the rubber band which holds it in its place. I love that I can add pages of different sizes and create more diversity.
Some of the pages are shorter, some are smaller, some have scalloped edges.
This journaling card is the most beautiful!!! I adhered it only on the sides and the bottom to create a pocket for tags and photos.
Here I got inspired by the card slots in wallets. Awesome for all different tags.
Do you remember these beautiful big flowers from the Jaimee kit? I attached them using 3D foam squares so that I can move it around the photo in future. Similarly on the other page I used the mini clip for the journaling card.
This is my favourite page. I found this beautiful paper in the Tori kit. As soon as I saw it I knew I would cut more pockets for the tags. I totally love the effect it makes!
And vellum pocket fronts are definitely a must for me! I could happily use tons of them!
Oh and envelopes. Always a good choice for your minis. They can carry so many photos or hidden journaling!
I managed to film a flip through where you can see in a little better detail how I put the mini album together! Thank you so much for being here with me today hopefully you found some inspiration for your future mini album.
Have a wonderful week.
