She's Got Personality | Andrea Gray

Hi & hello from Northern California! You might know me around the crafty world as retrohipmama. Outside of scrapbooking I love to do different crafty things (like embroidery, sewing and DIY decorating), jump on the trampoline with my two boys, scroll Instagram (I’m always there so follow me @retrohipmama), eat dark chocolate, have conversations with my husband in movie quotes or song lyrics and watch football. I am currently on the Illustrated Faith and Elle's Studio design teams and love inspiring others to make stuff! My style has definitely evolved over the almost 20 years I have been memory keeping, but my layouts always come out clean and colorful and full of stories.

So there's no surprise that Felicity Jane is a perfect fit for me and I'm so excited to be here with you! 

When I begin a page, it always starts with a piece of inspiration. That could be a photo, a specific card or even a quote. For this spread, the retro girl and the quote was where I wanted to start. 

I pinned the quote when it came across my feed and printed it because it's very representative of my personality. Knowing why I get irritated with others when they give me instructions or expect me to follow orders was made very clear when I began to understand my personality type. I am an ISTJ and I really wanted to document this particular part of who I am in my personal traveler's notebook.

Using the London Kit, I stuck to a colorway of green, yellow and pink to coordinate with the girl's dress and hair. I simply layered 3x4 cut-aparts, tags, strips and chipboard to make a base for all the rest of the fun.

I used the chipboard alphas for the personality type letters. I then took an excerpt from the description that was related to the quote and added that to a 3x4 card from the cut-apart sheet that I trimmed the top off of.

I wanted to add a subtle reminder that it's okay to be who I am - even if some would find this trait to be a flaw. BE YOURSELF was the perfect sentiment to stamp for that reminder.

My entire family has taken this personality test and it is super eye opening for how we see ourselves and each other. So, what's your personality type and have you documented it yet? I sure hope you have enjoyed seeing my traveler's notebook layout! See you again soon!
