I’m a big fan of capturing the simple everyday moments that make up our lives. My girl was fresh back from a pamper party in this pic and although the last thing she wanted was her mum fussing about demanding photoshoots, I feel strongly that some lovely memories just need to be recorded, you know?
The Henley kit was perfect for documenting this moment: I love how the teals tone with the aqua glitter, and the peaches bring out the warm tones in her hair.
I’m never quite sure how my design will end up when I start a page, but I did know that I wanted to cram as many of the beautiful papers into one page as I could! So adding these strips of colour top and bottom seemed a good trick. I ran over them here and there with my sewing machine to add a little extra texture.
I’d seen fellow teammate Victoria Marie make a gorgeous page with fussy-cut florals and wanted to give the technique a try myself. I added some tissue paper and vellum behind each to add a little extra femininity (as if those gorgeous roses needed it!)
I very often like to tuck my journalling away on tags, but only because I’m so scared I’ll mess it up if I write on the actual page! I think typewritten journalling might have worked well too - perhaps on strips of vellum to continue the delicate feel.
And of course, my title got a staple popped through it - my favourite trick! I also love tiny details that no one but me will notice, like tucking half of one of the letters under a different paper layer. We could honestly spend all day on this hobby of ours, couldn’t we?
