Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! I’m so thankful that we have social media as a way to stay connected, especially during this time of social distancing, but there is something special about connecting with someone in a tangible way. Today I’m sharing how to create some simple fall themed cards that you can send to a friend to brighten their day. I love all the beautiful papers in the Gabby Collection (especially the woodgrain) and this is a great way to showcase those. I have a video process for this project as well that will be linked at the end of the post.
This project doesn’t require many supplies and can be customized to fit your style. I’m starting out with a top folding card base, a piece of patterned paper (I made each card with a different pattern since I love them all!), and some Essentials White Cardstock to create the foundation of these cards.
For embellishments, all you need are some alpha stickers (or stamps), epoxy stickers, gold thread (not pictured), Essentials Label Stickers, and some leaves that I cut out using a Felicity Jane cut file and an electronic die cutting machine.
I used a wood textured embossing folder on the smaller piece of white cardstock to mimic the wood grain paper that I used for the leaves. I then sewed the textured cardstock onto the patterned paper and then adhered everything to the card base. 
Once the foundation is created it’s time to embellish! I added a nest of gold thread behind the leaf before adding it to the card with some foam dots for added dimension and texture. A sprinkle of epoxy dots adds some additional color and another texture. For the sentiment, I used the adorable Gabby alphas layered on a label sticker. I like to keep the sentiments pretty generic so I can just grab a card as needed and customize the interior message.
That’s it! A quick and easy way to showcase some of the beautiful Gabby papers and send a little love to a friend. I think it would be fun to create little packs of cards like these and give them as a gift to encourage others to send some happy mail as well!
