Hi everyone! Mandy here with you today to share a layout that I created using the bright and fun Zoey kit! This kit is perfect for creating birthday themed projects, and so I decided to pull out some birthday photos that I haven’t yet scrapped and get them documented! This one is of my eldest daughter, Abigail, taken on her 6th birthday. (She’s now 13, so this was 7 years ago!)
I absolutely love the gorgeous colours in this kit, and decided for this layout that I would focus on the pink and yellow, with some pops of black for contrast!
I started my layout off by cutting the word ‘six’ out of my background, using my Silhouette Cameo. (I used the Impact font, in case you’re interested). I then added on offset to the cut file, and used my Cameo, along with a black sketch pen, to outline the word. I love that this gives it some extra definition! I then backed the cut file with the bold stripes patterned paper, which is one of my favourites from the kit!
I completed my title using the black puffy alphabet stickers. These are super cute, and I know that they’ll be really versatile! Underneath the title, I added a strip of the stripes patterned paper as well as a scallop branding strip off one of the solid color papers in the kit. I did some machine stitching through these strips, which adds some subtle texture to the page, and then I added a couple of the die cuts here as well.
I matted my photo using one of the solid color papers from the kit and then I added a couple of layers behind my photo using a doily as well as a black scallop die cut. I adhered my photo using some foam tape to give it some extra height and dimension. On the bottom left hand corner of the photo I created a little cluster using a few of the die cuts from the kit, including the yellow heart and the ticket that says ‘It’s a Party’.
The acetate shapes in the Zoey kit are so beautiful! I used the pink acetate tab on this page, which I tucked under the right hand side of the photo. You can also see here that I added a couple more die cut sequins to the right of the photo. I’m seriously loving these! I wish I had more!
I created a fun banner up in the top right hand corner of the page using some die cuts and acetate shapes from the kit. I added some machine stitching along the top of the banner, and I love the extra texture that this gives it! Those acetate bows were absolutely perfect for finishing off the banner, and I used my tiny attacher to staple them to the page.
I finished the layout off by adding some of the bitty puffy stars around the page.
Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I hope that you’ve been inspired!
