Hello FJ fans and Merry Christmas!
I am here today, on Christmas Eve, with some more inspiration for your December projects. This year I decided to go for a 6x8 album. It was a lot of agonising over if it is not too big for me BUT I am so happy I made this decision! I was not able to craft for some time and this album with the pockets makes it so easy to catch up. I can simply skip pages and document whatever story I fancy. Also, the Coco kit is meant to be used in a 6x8 album, all the dividers, pockets, embellishments are designed to fit the album perfectly. The whole package makes it super easy!
I have a double spread for you. The full page is inspired by the snowglobe on one of the journaling cards. I so wanted to create a shaker card and as soon as I spotted the card I knew I would give it a try.
I also brought some fake snow for crafting with my kids so I used a bit of that. Sadly the snow doesn't move around thanks to the static electricity of the acetate foil. But all the sequins do, so feel free to use lots of them! To create the snowglobe I cut a circle in the white cardstock and I used one of the solid colour papers to create the holder. The golden numbers are from last year's Harper kit. To fill in the white space I went for few black splatters and gold stars.
The next spread is a pocket page with four pockets of 3x4 inches. I decided to play around a bit more with the sequins and created my own journaling card with hand stitched stars. Labour of love, I have to say.
I love how easily you can put the cards together to create the spread. I also love the fact that I can play with all the embellishments not having to think how to fit lots of the photos. It is very refreshing. As for the title I wanted to put Eggnog but there is not enough Gs in the alphabet so I was creative and used the Czech word instead. Those of you that have diacritics in their language: I cut letter X.
I am very excited to keep documenting our December days in this gorgeous album. But for now let's enjoy the most beautiful time of the year and create wonderful stories together with our families. Have a wonderful Christmas, everyone!
