Hello FJ Friends,
I’m so excited to create with the Annie Kit! The mix of colours in this kit are just pure happiness aren’t they? When I saw the mix of papers in the kit, they all looked so beautiful together on the packaging strip that comes in the front of the pack…and that was the inspiration for the A5 notebook spread that I have to share with you today!
I’ve been adding a double page spread to my A5 notebook every month throughout this year to document the little things that I love, things that I’m enjoying and things I want to remember. For this spread I’m writing about a little café we visited where we ate the most delicious muffin I’ve ever tasted. It was strawberry, rhubarb and custard and it was just SO good!
The packaging strip is like a little added extra inside the paper pack. It has a smaller scaled version of each paper represented all together across the strip. It’s perfect for cutting up to use on projects and I love to use it whenever I can since it’s too pretty to waste!
I cut the strip out and trimmed off two of the patterns from one end so that it would fit across the double page of my A5 notebook with a little space at each end. I added machine stitching then cut the strip in half so that I had five vertical strips on each side.
For the first page I backed my photo with the yellow journaling card from the kit, added some stitching and attached a midi clip to the top left corner.
I also decorated it with a scalloped washi strip, a fussy cut flower from the gorgeous floral paper and a felt heart from the Bailey Kit. The title was adhered down the right side of the photo.
For the second page I printed some journaling onto some tissue paper and attached it by stitching across the top edge. I glued some sequins onto the confetti strip and added the “Happy” ticket to the top right of the patterned piece.
I finished off with two more felt hearts, a scalloped washi strip tucked under the right edge and stamped the date under the bottom right corner.
There's a video below if you'd like to watch my process...
This spread was so fun to put together and I think it’s such a happy addition to my notebook! Have you tried documenting in this size? It’s one of my favourite formats to create with and I hope I’ve inspired you to give it a try.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!
