So Much Happy | Banning Lane

How much do you love the new "Next Stop" kit? I can't get over how fantastic the color palette is this month. So so good! I love the whole travel theme that this kit has, but today I am telling a story of celebration!

Here is a look at my layout.

Do you see what I am saying about the color palette!!

So last week my hubby and I celebrated 13 years of marriage. I snapped a picture of the two of us so that I could scrap it. Later when I printed out that photo, I couldn't help but think of how much we have changed and grown as a couple over the last several years. I wanted to document that change, so I also printed out of photo of us from our first year of marriage.

I didn't really have a plan going into this layout. I started by just sorting through all the product to see what would actually work with my photos and story. As usual I loved all the 3x4 cut apart cards and decided to pair them with my photos to make a grid style layout.

I loved having the "then and now" photos on my layout, but I wanted to highlight the current photo. To do this, I cut out a scalloped border to put around my photo, and used some foam adhesive to pop it up a bit. I love a scallop almost as much as I love a polka dot!

I had more than enough to work with when it came to embellishing my layout. I decided to go with a heart theme, and stuck with the elements from the kit that fit that theme.

I used my computer to type up my journaling. Because I didn't have enough journaling to fill an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper, I trimmed it down to about 4 X 11 inches. To make my words feel like they went with my layout, I decided to mimic the scallop and added a border down the edge of my journaling.

If you want to see how this whole layout came together, you can watch my process video below.
