Hello, Everyone!
Today I have another layout from my A5 Summer Mini album to share with you. For this layout I used the gorgeous new Elizabeth collection, the Hello Sunshine stamp set (my new favorite stamp set!) along with some other staples from the Felicity Jane shop.
The base of my layout is set up on the Note to Self A5 Grid paper. I personally love the grid paper because it's easy to line photos and embellishments up on and I can quickly handwrite my journaling if I need to without having to grab a ruler. However, the A5 paper also comes in lined and dot grid so you can choose whatever works best for you and your style. This paper is a seriously great staple for mini books of this size!
My first step in putting this layout together was figuring out where I wanted my journaling to go. I got a rough idea of where my photos would be placed and then set up my journaling in an A5 canvas in photoshop so I could print directly onto my A5 paper. Once I had that done I was able to start adhering things down. I first reinforced the holes of the spine with the Black and White Strip washi tape. I love the bold graphic look the washi gives to the edge of the page. Next, I placed my photos down and layered an Elizabeth chipboard shape and a couple of the layered cardstock stickers onto the right page.
I kept things pretty simple on the right because I knew I wanted to add quite a bit more to the left page.
On the left side I layered a couple of my photos onto some of the pink Elizabeth pattern paper and for the middle photo I layered it on top a lined journaling card (to tie in the lined washi tape). From there I semi-randomly placed some die cut pieces and stickers down, and did some stamping around the page. While doing this I tried to keep overall balance in mind, which included making sure colors got balanced out across the layout.
This was such a fun page to work on and I'm happy to have this trip to the beach documented in our summer mini album. I hope you're enjoying your Elizabeth kit as much as I am!
