Hello FJ friends! This is Lynne with my very first creative team project using the lovely Jaimee kit. I absolutely love all the spring colors in this kit and I knew I had to use the greens and blues for this photo of my son. I could not help but fall in love with how the color of these papers brought out the blue in his eyes.
I initially started this layout with the photo and the journaling already printed out. I cut down the polka dot sheet of patterned paper to fit in my traveler’s notebook and used the extra scraps form that cut as layers behind my photo.
Then I wanted to coordinate the striped paper to tie the two sides together, so I used the small black polka dot tag that came in the kit, traced it out on the striped paper, and fussy cut my own label. From there, I used a scrap of a dot from the blue paper to punch out a circular tag hole with two different size hole punches. Then I added the label and the title from the Jaimee puffy stickers and started working on my right side.
I love, love, love the stamps that came in this month’s kit and knew I wanted to use the messy stitch stamp somewhere in this layout. After I added some small strips of solid color paper from the kit as a border, I stamped the messy stitch and scalloped border below my photo. I had already glued my photo down before I decided to use the plaid tab, so I snipped the bottom row of checkers off to make it fit without having to pull up my photo. The additional snipped part of the cardstock tab made a perfect additional element to put under my title on the left hand side. From there, I added the colored puffy heart stickers to both sides and some cut out black cardstock hearts I cut out with my silhouette.
This was such a fun kit to work with and I am excited to keep creating with it. I would love to see what you have created, too!
