Sometimes it is good to go back and look through older photos! I recently came across these photos of my oldest when he was first learning to swim about 5 years ago. I love that through the power of photos we can recall our family's memories. The photos were a perfect match to the colors in the Summer Kit that I couldn't wait to dive in and create this layout.
I starred with that gorgeous water color paper from the Summer kit that reminded me so much of water so I used that as my background. I trimmed down that grey stripe and the black and white spot and adhered that to my background.
I then created a loose grid with my photos through the center of my layout and added in some of the chipboard stickers, and die cuts in and around my photos. The Summer die cut was the perfect title for my layout.
I loved the pop of yellow in the die cuts so I went ahead and handcut a sun from some cardstock from my stash. I layered it under the grey and white striped pattern paper. I love how this adds to the Summer theme of my layout.
As always the dimension and shadow created by the die cuts, flair and Chipboard stickers adds the texture and interest I want without the bulk!
What Summer memory will you scrapbook this week!
