Summer | Mandy Melville

Hi friends, Mandy back with some more 'Summer' kit inspiration for you, and today I'm sharing a layout that I created featuring those gorgeous florals in the kit!

I documented a photo of my eldest daughter, taken last Summer, when she was enjoying an ice cream cone! I had so much fun creating this layout, and thinking about the beautiful warm days of summer, because we're in the middle of winter here in Australia!

I started my layout off by adding some strips of patterned paper down the middle of the layout. I love the bright and vibrant colours in the kit, and I wanted to feature these, as well as the fun patterns, on my page.

I am seriously loving the florals in the 'Summer' kit, and I couldn't help but fussy cutting some out of the floral patterned paper to use on my layout! I layered one on the bottom right hand corner of the photo, and then tucked the other one under the left hand side of the hexagon patterned paper. The die cut word 'summer' made the perfect title for my page, and I added it across the bottom of my photo, using some foam tape to lift it up and give it some dimension.

Here you can see some of the pretty layers and the dimension on my page. I popped one of the flair buttons from the kit to the right of the floral cluster. I always love the cute Felicity Jane flair buttons!

I added a couple of die cuts on top of the floral cluster at the top of the page. This cluster balances out the floral cluster on the bottom of the photo, creating a diagonal flow on the layout. I stamped the phrase 'family fun', and added it to that die cut label. I also added the corner stamp in the top left hand corner of the page, and the bottom right hand corner, and I like how this frames everything. How awesome is the 'Summer' stamp set!

Lastly I popped a few little die cut stars onto the layout, and then added my journaling down in the bottom right hand corner of the page.
