Hey there lovely people,
Danielle here with another project for you. This week I’m on Friday favourites so that means I get to share my absolute dream item from the Amanda kit with you – yay!
When I received the kit, I was completely obsessed with everything in the striped box, but the standout item for me was the alphabet stickers. The font itself is simple and classic and the size and style are just perfect for all projects – they’re a real winner.
Full disclosure, my July/August has a new soundtrack and I’m obsessed with the latest Taylor Swift album – Folklore. It’s been pretty much on repeat since it was released at the end of July so I knew I needed to include it in a project.
I printed out a large square photo of the album artwork and backed it on some of the green gingham paper along with a star journal card. I dug out my Sarah metal die set and cut out a few of the little leaves using green paper and attached one to my photo using a black paperclip - cute
I wanted to include the lyrics to one of the songs off the album, but I was struggling to come up with an unusual way to do that. I finally worked out that if I printed the lyrics on a sheet of A4 vellum, I could trim the paper slightly and fold the text up, then glue it into my TN page – that way the lyrics show through the vellum, but it doesn’t overtake the spread.
Once my vellum was glued in place, I got to add the star of the show, the beautiful alphas, straight on top of the vellum. I chose the lyrics “I gave so many signs” from the song Exile and stuck the alphas along the edge of the page almost like a title. I glued another little die cut leaf to the vellum and stapled a tab so the lyrics can be pulled open to read.
I couldn’t resist adding a few more alphas to a chipboard piece for T.S = Taylor Swift and a cute heart from the puffy shapes. I’m really pleased with how this simple spread came together.
