Hello there again, my fellow FJ lovers! Today I’m sharing a fun set of 6x8 pocket pages. I focused on all the lovely colors in the patterned papers for this one, because the subdued colors were perfect for my sunset photos at the beach.
I started this spread with a full page 6x8 layout inside my sheet protector. For this one I pulled the amazing striped paper from the paper pack. It’s become totally my thing to slice striped papers up and stitch them on. Every time I do this I just squeal at the pretty dimension when it’s all finished and ephemera is tucked in!
To do this you simply cut your paper to size, cut along the color borders, stitch through the middle onto your background, and then fluff up the edges to create lots of gorgeous dimension and character. Next you tuck in florals, ephemera, or chipboard pieces in between the strips to draw in the eye.
On the left hand side I decided I’d go with a 4 card setup. I wanted to let the cute-as-ever journaling cards in the Amanda collection do all the talking here. I popped up a photo on the fun “summer” card, added some hand journaling on one, and then added my title to the floral card with the great puffy alphas. The thank you card that comes in each kit is always perfect for popping in as a title card too!
To add even more character I stapled on a few chipboard pieces, and then I pulled out some black ink and the stamp set, so I could add another sentiment to my pockets. I chose the “fresh air” sentiment, because it was my exact thought as I raced down the dunes to reach the lake front beach when we first arrived at our vacation destination. The wind on the shore and the clean air in my lungs always bring a smile to my face. As you can tell my little has the same feeling. He couldn’t wait to rip off his shoes and dig his feet in the sand.
All that was left was to slip my journaling cards back into their pockets and pop them in my FJ album. I hope you got some inspiration for your next pocket page spread, and I can’t wait to see what you guys are creating with the Amanda collection!
