Sunshine, A Smile, and a Track Full of Trains Layout │ Digital Collections │ Lydia CostMar 20, 2020
Fridays are the best day on the FJ blog, because it’s all about our favorite products. Today I wanted to share my absolute love of the FJ digital collections. They are so versatile and beautiful. You can print and cut to your heart’s desire, or you can scrap digitally or add bits to your digital planner. It’s such an amazing deal for the price.
I started out in the scrapping world as a hybrid scrapbooker, so this layout feels so close to home for me. After sifting through my digital collections, I chose the amazing Paper 12 from the Megan Collection to be my main focal point. I fell in love with that rainbow as soon as I saw it!
I printed the paper landscape on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of cardstock, planning to get pretty close to the edges of my 12x12 background paper. I trimmed out each section of the rainbow, and then ran each piece through my sewing machine with coordinating thread colors. I think it gave the rainbow a pretty little whimsical look that I always love.
Next I arranged a bunch of the amazing florals from the Jaimee collection onto a sheet to print. These are some of my favorite pieces in the new digital collections. They matched perfectly to my rainbow from the Megan digital collection. I fussy-cut them out after printing and arranged them at the bottom of my stitched rainbow.
I knew I wanted to center my photo in the middle, so I got to popping my florals up around it. I then stitched two tabs from the Megan kit and wiggled them under my photo. This made the perfect place for my date and an anchor for my journaling.
I finished off my layout with a long title, using the amazing Madison puffy alphas. It fit perfectly on the second layer of my rainbow, and I’m just giddy with how pretty the title looks curved along the edge. Last but certainly not least, I splattered on some pretty black spots to anchor in the pretty black alphas. I left this layout simple and fresh, which FJ products lend so beautifully to.
Thanks again for popping by, lovely friends!
