Sweet Sweet Girl Layout | Suzanna Stein

Hey crafty pals! I’m so excited to be back on the blog sharing my first 12x12 layout in a long time. I took a break from the traditional size because I was really loving working on a smaller scale - 6x12 layouts, traveler’s notebook layouts, pocket pages, etc. After my short break though, I am back at it with 12x12 pages!

Traditional 12x12 layouts are one of my favorite ways to document multiple photos, which was the case with this! I used the Mila kit for this layout because the soft colors, pops of gold and olive green, and the patterns were perfect for a layout about my mom’s sweet cat.

I used watercolors in the color palette of the kit to add depth to the background of the layout. I love the way the colors act as a mat for my photos and make them feel like part of the page, rather than just two images floating in white space!

For the detail at the top of the page, I layered a few of the gorgeous journal cards to bring in a few different patterns. I also wanted to tie in stars with the layout since I knew I wanted to scatter little star sequins around the page.

I finished the layout with splatters of a light gold watercolor that I also used in the background! I really love the way this layout turned out and how I was able to use the soft watercolors to add interest to it, without taking away from the images.

What are your favorite ways to document multiple images? I’d love to know! Feel free to share in the comments below so I can give them a try!
