Hello everyone! How are you today? I’m super excited to be back and with a new project using the “Ginny” Collection. Do we make a mini album together? Today I have an inspiring idea for you: watermelons YAY!
We are going to create a watermelon shaped mini album. Isn’t it a fresh and fun idea for this summer? For the base we are going to use the 6x6 paper pack and the Essential 6x6 Solids No 1 pack. Also you can use some papers from the 12x12 paper pack. .
First thing to do is to cut some cardboard pieces. I cut two cardboard semicircles and an extra piece for the spine. The height of the pieces is 6 inches. The width can be chosen by you. We are also going to need white cardstock. You must cover both covers with white cardstock. Then, cut two smaller pieces of red paper and green paper to shape the watermelon on both covers. For the spine I used a yellow paper from the 12x12 paper pack.
Glue all the pieces together to form the structure of the mini album. Remember to add a ribbon to make the closure of the mini album.
For the cover: prepare a small paper rosette with the same paper you used for the mini album spine. Add some die cuts from the “Ginny” Collection and don’t forget the lovely stamp set. ;)
For the mini album spine: I used one of the Tassel Bows from the Jeana Kit and a small tag from the die cut shapes.
For the interior: prepare a triple u-shaped spine. The measurements of the papers to be able to put it together are: 1- 1 1/4” w x 5 1/2” h (score in 1/2” and 3/4”), 2- 1 3/4” w x 5 1/2” h (score in 1/2” and 1 1/4”)- 3- 2 1/4” w x 5 1/2” h (score in 1/2” and 1 3/4”). Glue the centers one inside the other and add the resulting piece to the inside of the spine.
For the pages: cut 12 design papers (combining the 6x6 paper pack and the 12x12 paper pack) Use the same size as the covers. Also cut two extra pages for the interior of the covers.
Time to decorate! :) YAY! Prepare all your embellishments: die cuts, stamps, layered stars and everything you want to decorate.
The stamp kit and die cuts were the basic ones I used to decorate. I wanted to leave as much space for photographs as possible.
When you have all the pages ready, you must glue them together leaving a "pocket" where we will add them to the spine of the mini album. It's a super easy way to prepare for binding.
Thank you very much for stopping by ;)
See you next time!
