Hi FJ Friends!
I’m excited to be joining you on the blog today with a new Take 3 challenge! There’s so much to love about the Ginny Kit this month and I was especially taken by the beautiful, sunny yellows in the papers, journaling cards and embellishments. I also thought the stamp set was really fun too! This made it so easy for me to choose my three things to focus on for this challenge…

I decided to create an A5 notebook spread for this project. I’ve been adding one spread per month into my notebook to document things about me, things I love and things I want to remember.
When I first saw these photos that my husband took of me laughing I cringed and wanted to delete them, but then I realized these photos had captured something that I love about life with my him…that he’s been making me laugh like this every day for the last 31 years and I hope it never ends!
I started with white cardstock backgrounds that I had cut to size to fit inside my A5 notebook. I stitched a border, then added a strip of the gorgeous yellow paper from the 6 x 6 paper pad across the top of each page. I also cut the scalloped strip from the solid colour 12 x 12 paper from the kit to go across the bottom on the pages too, then added more stitching.
I really wanted this page to feel light, bright and happy so I chose a subtle spotty paper from the Capri Kit to go behind my journaling. I stitched a border around the journaling and added the title “here & now” using the Ginny Stamp Set. I also added a mustard miniwide paperclip to the top left of the journaling to add another touch of yellow.
I cut the leaves from the large floral die cut so I could tuck them under the edge of the flower. This gave me a little more room and I could choose where I wanted the leaves to sit. I added a yellow starburst die cut under the bottom edge of the flower. Under the journaling I added another stamped sentiment and stamped the date.
For the second page, I used the same spotty Capri paper to cut two tag tops using the Shay Tag Builder Metal Dies. I adhered them to the top of my photos, added stitching and some twine and positioned them hanging down the page. I decorated each photo with a floral die cut, yellow die cut sequin and a stamped phrase or word. A little more stitching and the page was done.
I adhered my pages into my notebook and I’m so happy with the end result!
