Hi FJ Friends!
Today I have a traveler’s notebook spread to share with you featuring the beautiful Hope Kit and I couldn’t resist using another one of those super cute mini file folders! They are the perfect way to add extra photos and hidden journaling too!
I started out by cutting my pages to size and adding a strip of the pretty pink plaid paper across the middle of the spread before stitching across the top and bottom of each piece with my sewing machine.
The photo (approximately 3 inches square) was adhered to the first page. I cut a blue scalloped piece from the paper pack packaging to tuck under the left side of the photo before adding the title with the adorable Tiny Dot Puffy Alphabet Stickers…love those! I threaded the sweet little die cut hearts onto a piece of twine from my stash, knotted each end and then stapled the twine into place to the right of the title. I love that the holes were already punched into the centre of the hearts making this process so easy and the hearts add some lovely texture to the page. I also fussy cut a flower from the floral paper and positioned it to the bottom right of the photo.
The second page is where I wanted to use the polka dot mini file folder. I printed out some journaling and the second photo was sized to roughly 3 x 2 inches to fit inside. I adhered the journaling to the inside right of the folder, then added a die cut phrase and the embroidered heart to the front of the folder before adding some stitching and a staple. The photo was then adhered to the inside left of the folder, which covered the back of the stitching and the staple that came through from the front.
I also added a puffy word sticker to the tab of the folder before adhering the folder into place using some strong double sided tape. A miniwide paperclip in the top right corner of the folder helps to keep it closed. To finish off the spread I stamped the date to the bottom right of the spread with the FJ Roller Date Stamp.
You can see my process in the video below...
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing how I put this one together and that perhaps I’ve inspired you to use a mini file folder for some hidden photos or journaling on your next project!
Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I’ll see you again soon!
